Review: Kidzooona, indoor playground to learn and play

As soon as I became a parent, it became my goal to find fun activities that I can try with my daughter. We’ve tried playing in the living room, walking in the park, swimming in the pool and playing in an outdoor playground.

However, things like a worn out playground, unkept pools, and bad weather hinder us from having fun activities. Luckily, a friend of mine invited us to visit the Kidzooona Nuvali branch. I remember being crazy excited over the tiny towns and markets. It was so cute! I loved it there! My then 13 months old daughter, Kerrigan Winter, was just looking around, quiet, and just taking her time in this new place.

Kidzooona has been around since 2014. The first branch was in Robinson’s Galleria Ortigas. Today, it has branches in almost all malls in new malls in Manila, like Ayala South Park in Muntinlupa, Uptown Mall in BGC and Century Mall in Rockwell. It’s crazy how fast the business is expanding! With the lack of outdoor playgrounds and the demand for convenient play areas, I think these indoor playgrounds will boom even more in the coming years.
Almost all of these branches have the same sets of toys and activities. By having standard types of toys, Kidzooona is able to stay true to its goal of improving the body and mind of the children and create bonds between parents and children. What’s even great is that their toys and activities are suitable for young children and even adults. So, take this opportunity to get to know your kids even more through fun play times.

Toys and Activities

1 Ball-Pool

Who doesn’t enjoy swimming, diving and jumping in a pool made of balls? It’s overwhelmingly fun to see a room full of blue, yellow and white colors! When I took my 13-month-old daughter there, she could barely walk and today, she could run and dive on her own without my help. It’s fun to see how she was able to develop her ability to move around the ball-pool.

2 Cyber Wheel

Although soft and sturdy, the inflatable wheel is more for the pre-schoolers and older kids. You can roll in it, push and slide but be sure to look after the kids during play.

3 Down Town Kidzooona

If you’re looking for ways to do creative play with your kids trying out the Down Town Kidzooona is a must! You’ll be amazed on how your kids will re-enact the cooking, selling and even the grocery time.

4 Air Track

Most of the kids, especially my daughter, love to run and jump non-stop. The Air Track activity will leave you breathless and amused with how long your kid can sustain minutes long of playtime in this activity. You’d be happy to just take a seat and watch her prance and hop to exhaustion. Don’t forget to give your kids lots of water to refresh after play.

5 Toy Corner

Here’s another activity that will promote creativity and conversations with your child. You can show them how to build stuff using magnetic buildable toys, create shapes and play some random music. There’s a train track, wooden doll houses, and puzzles for babies, toddlers, and preschoolers.

6 Air Slider

Do you think you’re too big to slide? Think again when you see the giant Air Slider! You will definitely conquer your fear of heights and even encourage your child to be more adventurous when you try the slide together. Be sure to follow the right way to slide, though.

There’s always a room for improvement

My daughter and I have been going to three different branches already and I could see the difference in terms of customer service, toy quality, and the crowd. It would’ve been nicer if the customer service and staff training are standard in all branches. The quality and maintenance of the toys should also be a priority because they are used by hundreds of kids and adults every hour from 9 am until the mall closes at 8 pm. In terms of the crowd, most are quite nice, but I have seen a nanny threw a ball furiously at a boy causing a red blister on his forehead. I’ve also experienced shielding my daughter from a flying table thrown by a foreigner kid. So, it’s important to follow your small kids around and look after the older kids all the time. And oh! Weekdays, every morning and after lunch, are the ideal time to go.
